Havianas at Rue La La

The Havianas boutique is tomorrow at Rue La La starting at 11am EST. I've never owned a pair but I've heard nothing but great things. Definitely think I'm gonna have to buy a pair of these fab flip flops.

Favorite Thing #187 - Bath and Body Works Foam Burst

I absolutely love this Bath and Body Works product. It's the best thing for shaving and they are discontinuing it. :( I'm so bummed so this weekend when Hubby and I were at the mall I stocked up. Right now they are selling for $3 online (usually $9) but I got them in the store for $2.25. I bought 8 so that should hold me over for the year and now I'm just going to have to find a replacement. Any suggestions?

Not really a fan of Favorite Thing #87 anymore. The Flirt Jeans from Old Navy were great at first but then the color started fading and they loose their shape after only a few hours of wear. As great of a price as I got them for I would rather invest the money in Sevens or Citizens because I know they will last for a long time and won't fade as fast.

Sweater Clean Out!

I did a massive sweater clean out of my closet because I have too many sweaters! I've put a bunch of stuff on ebay. Click here to see the stuff.

Favorite Thing #186 - L'Occitane Hand Cream

Hubby put L'Occitane Lavender Hand Cream in my stocking for Christmas and I'm a huge fan. I keep the travel size bottle in my desk at work and I use it like four or five times a day. It's so moisturizing and smells sooo good. I definitely recommend if you have dry hands. The scent isn't over powering...it's just enough.

Favorite Thing #86 - Pierogi Casserole is still a big favorite in our house. I don't make it very often because there is nothing healthy about it.

A new look...

...in our guest room thanks to my fabulous aunt and uncle! My aunt and uncle got Hubby and I this great bedding from Crate and Barrel. I absolutely love the plum color and it goes so well with the light blue walls. It gives the room such a warm, inviting feel. So much better than the old duvet cover. Sorry the pic quality sucks. I took it on my blackberry. Now I just want to find a couple throw pillows and blanket for the end of the bed and it will be complete. My aunt has amazing taste and she has helped decorate our house. I think I'm gonna do a post on all the fabulous stuff we have gotten from her.

And finally the Dansko boutique which starts on Sunday, January 17th @ 11am. Favorite Thing #98 are my Dansko patent leather clogs!

I think I need to own...

...this Longchamp bag. I will be honest. I haven't been a fan of them until I laid my eyes on this one! My colleague sent me this website and these Longchamps are significantly reduced. I wonder if they are real.

Pairing old with new...

One of my goals this year is to shop less and save more. I did a great job of it in 2009 but I know I can do a better job in 2010. So I'm trying to "shop my closet" and when I buy new pieces make sure they are versatile. And my first attempt to do this was today with this outfit. The new item is the cardigan from J.Crew (purchased on sale plus 25% off) and I paired it with a big brown belt from Forever21 and a camel wool skirt from GAP (which I have had for 5+ years). I think the outfit came together nicely. And I felt the purchase was versatile because I can wear it with jeans or dress pants and it can be worn for three different seasons...spring, fall, winter. What do you think???

My New Years Resolutions

This is the first year that I've decided to put my resolutions on paper. Both Hubby and I are doing this and have committed to helping each other. Here are a few of the big ones I'm focusing on.
  1. Be Healthier - I want to lose 10-15 pounds but also eat healthier. More veggies, fruits, and whole grains less sweets and fried foods.
  2. Be consistent with running - I know I'm not going to be one of those people that runs 10 miles a day but I would like to stay consistent and run about 10 miles a week and my goal would be to hit 250 total miles run by end of the year.
  3. Focus on my blog - I feel like the last couple of months I've lost focus on my blog so I really want to make sure I spend time each week coming up with creative posts. To measure this I hope to hit 200 followers by the end of the year.
  4. Cook at home more - I love to cook but I don't do it enough. My goal is to try two or three new recipes a month and of course I will share them with you!

Happy Belated New Year!

Sorry I've been so MIA since Christmas. Hubby and I have been VERY busy! Our holiday was spent with his family back in Western Pennsylvania (we rotate holidays). We had a very enjoyable time with his family and got lots of great gifts. I told you earlier about an early Christmas gift from my father-in-law, our memory foam mattress. He also got me the Twilight series (I've already read them but so happy to own them so I can re-read) and some cute clothes. My mother-in-law and her husband totally surprised Hubby and I with a carpet steam cleaner. This is perfect since we just got new carpet in our house. Hubby and I exchanged gifts Christmas Eve morning before we left for PA. I got him a new iPod and a bunch of Steelers stuff. He got me some fabulous gifts from Christmas. He really surprised me this year with how much he listens and reads my blog. I got this fabulous black dress from ATL, an orange turtleneck sweater from J.Crew, super cute black and white dress from Target (can't find a pic), and this adorable clutch purse.

Part of the reason why I haven't been blogging is because Hubby and I got really sick over Christmas. We both had nasty colds that we are just now getting over. Having colds didn't make New Years as fun as we would have liked. We decided to still keep our plans to go to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland and celebrate with some friends. We went to a nice dinner and then celebrated the New Year and I promptly went to bed. It was beautiful up there with lots of snow. We spent the time snuggled in the house watching the snow. Here's some pictures from our little getaway.

I can't believe the holidays are over and the decorations are put away. Technically Christmas isn't over for us yet. We are heading to my family's house this weekend to celebrate.
