Need Recommendations...
...for a new vacuum cleaner. We need a pretty strong vacuum cleaner because I shed EVERYWHERE. It's really bad and I can't help it but my hair is everywhere. So I need a vacuum that can withstand picking up my hair all the time. Ideally I would get a Dyson vacuum but they are just too pricey. I keep checking Woot but haven't found any deals. So do any of you ladies out there have a affordable recommendation or know where I can get a great deal on a Dyson?

i just bought a dirt devil and it works just great for our living room. my mom has had the same vacuum forever, i dont know the name but it has a bag, and in my experience bagged vacuums seem to work better, but i guess that is just a preference.
Ok, I struggled and struggled with the vacuum cleaner situation because I did not want to shell out the money for a Dyson.. well that was until my neighbor offered to let me borrow hers to see if I liked it.
At the time we only had one dog (beagle - short hair) and had only lived in our house that had brand new carpet for about 7 months, no kids. Well imagine my horror when it kept picking up stuff over and over.
I did wait a few months but I finally ended up getting a Dyson that was on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond and they let me use the 20% coupon. Let me tell you - it was the best purchase I had in 2008 by far. And no, I'm not one of those crazy cleaning people... :)
Sorry for the long post, good luck and let us know what you end up with!!
I can vouch for the Dyson. It's WELL worth the money - and the 20% off coupon at BBB helps a little.
Good luck!
Dyson is the best, I have a dog so I have hair everywhere and the Dyson works great! I got mine at BBB with a 20%off coupon, I think you won't get a better deal than that!
I have all hardwood floors but your fun photo of the lady with the vacuum makes me want carpet!
Dyson are totally overrated - they are the designer vacuums that break down in like 5 years. I have a Simplicity - it is super sturdy and lasts for like 10 years.
