Restaurant Recommendation

I'm heading to TN for work at the end of the week and need a restaurant recommendation. I'm actually going to be staying in Oakridge but wanted to grab dinner in Knoxville the night I get there. Please send me any good Knoxville dinner recommendations...preferably near the airport or on the way to Oakridge. Thanks!

Kitchen Aid Boutique on Rue La La Today

Today on Rue La La there is a Kitchen Aid boutique. I'm hoping I can pick up some accessories for my beloved Kitchen Aid mixer. I'm a sucker for kitchen gadets so I can't wait to see what other goodies they will feature. :)

For those of you new to the blog, Rue La La is a By-Invitation-Only Sample Sale site. Click Here to sign up using my personal invitation link. Favorite Thing #190 - Fossil White Resin Watch

Favorite Thing #190 was an early birthday gift. I've been wanting a white watch for a long time and my uncle got me a gift card to Macy's so I decided to get a new watch. I really like this Fossil one because its was affordable and chic. I really love the Michael Kors ones but I could justify spending close to $200 on a watch I won't wear everyday. The Fossil watch had everything I wanted with a price tag of $95. It's perfect! Here's a poor quality cell phone picture of the watch IRL.

Still love and use Favorite Thing #90. This bag is perfect for overnight and weekend trips. Definitely recommend if you don't already own. :)

Weekend Recap - My Birthday!!!!

This weekend Hubby and I celebrated my 28th birthday. My birthday was on Sunday...Father's Day...28 years ago I was born on Father's Day and I wish I could have been with my dad to celebrate both my birthday and Father's Day but it was too hard for us to make it home. We celebrated with friends on Saturday night. First we had dinner at Cork Wine Bar. It's a shared plates style restaurant and it was sooo good. Some of my favorites included - grilled asparagus, braised pork cheeks, grilled flank steak and french fries. The wines were also very good. I did a flight tasting of whites...so refreshing. After dinner we met a bunch of friends for drinks followed by late night Ben's Chili Bowl. Perfect night!!

On Sunday, Hubby and I decided to do a "birthday run" to one of our favorite breakfast places - First Watch. We relaxed around the house and then we ventured out to run some fun errands. First stop was Tiffany's to get a bunch of my jewelry cleaned. I've never had them clean it in the 8 plus years I've owned Tiffany jewelry. They cleaned a few pieces there and then sent the others away. I can't wait to see how sparkly and new they are going to look. We then headed to Louis Vuitton because I'm in the market for a new bag. I'm pretty sure I'm set on the Neverfull MM but I'm not 100% sure yet. After lusting at all the fabulous LV bags we headed to Bethesda for dinner. We ate at Redwood in Bethesda Row. Sooo yummy!!! The macaroni and cheese was amazing. Definitely recommend this restaurant. After dinner we headed home with some Georgetown Cupcakes...my favorite. It was a great birthday. I will share all the great birthday gifts I got throughout the week.

Latest Etsy Purchase

It's been a while since I've purchased anything from Etsy. I was very excited to find this makeup brush roll. It's super cute and a great price ($16.99). This Etsy seller, A Soft Black Star, has lots of fun patterns for these brush rolls and some of them have matching makeup bags. Check her stuff out here.

Favorite Thing #189 - Red Envelope Baby Elephant Ring Holder

I recently purchased Red Envelope's Baby Elephant Ring Holder and it's been one of my best purchases in a while. I used to just put my rings on top of different pieces of furniture in my bedroom and then forget where I put them. My friend Shannon suggested I get this. She had one and said she always put her rings on it and always knew where they were. I had a coupon so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It is nice and small and fits perfectly on the end table by my bed. If you were like me and didn't have a set place for your rings I definitely recommend this. is also available in a baby giraffe.

Hubby and I still use Favorite Thing #89. These ornament organizers keep our Christmas storage so organized. We purchased another one this year because we had so many ornaments.

Wine Tasting Weekend

This past weekend Hubby and I ventured to a couple wineries with our dear friends. First up was Breaux Vineyards. It's a beautiful vineyard with acres and acres of grape plants. There were soo many people there that I didn't think we were really going to enjoy the tasting. We actually lucked out because we ended up getting pulled into a semi private tasting in the back room. Here's a picture of us in the back room after the tasting.

There were a lot of wines that I liked. I ended up buying a bottle of the 2007 Jolie Blonde (similar to a Sauvignon Blanc) and 2008 Viognier. I'm going to save the Viognier for Thanksgiving dinner but the Jolie Blonde will be perfect for a night on the deck this summer. They had a great selection of reds I also really enjoyed. My favorites were 2002 Merlot Reserve (a little pricey for me at $44) and the 2005 Lafayette (100% cabernet franc). I would definitely go back there. The scenery is so pretty and the wine is great. I wish we would have known ahead of time that we could bring a picnic lunch and eat outside on the tables provided. How gorgeous is this place. This picture is definitely in the running for our Christmas card.

After picking up take out from Grandale Farm Restaurant (very yummy food). We headed to the second vineyard - Hillsborough Vineyard. This one is also located in Purcellville. Its so picturesque on the top of this hill with this adorable long patio that over looks the vineyard. This was another really nice tasting experience. The tasting rooms is set up like a restaurant. We sat at our own table and the wine was poured in four different flights. The atmosphere was nice but none of the wines really stood out.

After we finished tasting, we at our lunch just before the storm rolled in. Here's a picture of us girls right before the rain came crashing down. It was super windy...and it shows in my hair.

Rue La La Love

I haven't shopped at Rue La La in a while but was very happy with one of my latest purchases. This is a super cute Michael Kors top. It has so many fun bright colors and is very comfortable. The ruffle detail in the front is very cute too. I've paired it with black J.Crew Minnie Pants (one of my favs) and a new fav Banana Republic's Exposed Seam Cardigan. I just picked up this orange one on sale. I also have it in teal and gray.
