TARGET TUESDAY - Dressing Room Diary Edition

Now that I have some more free time on my hands, I thought I'd reinstate Target Tuesdays because well who doesn't love a good Target find and I am spending more time there which means more time to find goodies for you.  It's been a while since I've done a Dressing Room Diary post so I thought I'd start with Target because they have some really fabulous new arrivals.  They probably won't last long so get them now!

Remember the white/gray, super soft stripe one I had this fall well Target has brought it back in a gray/white version.  It's incredible soft and cozy.  I HIGHLY recommend.  Fit is looser but true to size.

I'm LOVING this oversized sweatshirt I found...reminds me of one I had in college.  Already gives you that pre-worn feel.  It's very oversized so if you don't want that look, size down.  I'm wearing an XS.  Other colors available.

This new hooded sweatshirt reminds me of one they had last year.  It's the exact same pattern but a different cut.  Very comfortable and lightweight enough that you could wear this all year round.  More fitted then the one above.  I'm in an XS.

Can you tell I'm getting ready for spring!?!?!?!?  Just LOVE this look.  I didn't know how I would feel about the twist top but it's REALLY flattering.  Other colors available.  I'm in an XS.  And can we talk about the white jeans?!?!?  If you've been following me then you know I LOVE white jeans and these are PERFECT.  They are supposed to be more capri length but on my 5'1" frame they are PERFECT crop size.  Definitely recommend.  True to size.

This cardigan is SOOO soft...like Barefoot Dreams soft.  You can dress it up or down.  Super cozy and comfy.  True to size.  Also comes in a darker gray.

I can't believe this sweater is under $20. The quality is fabulous and it's SO SOFT. Love the stripes with the subtle light blue detail. Fit is true to size. Also comes in gray stripe. True to size. Wear it now and transition it warmer temps with it in spring.

I LOVE a good long sleeve dress. Such a fabulous transition piece. Target has a really cute and soft one from the A New Day line. It's white with black stripes. You can dress it up or down. Wear with heels or flats. I'm short (5'1") so it's a little long on me. Love the pocket detail. True to size. \

Valentine's Day Fashions for You and Minis

When  I originally starting this blog post I had two other shirt options from LOFT that were perfect for Valentine's Day but they sold out.  :( SO now I bring you a couple of fun tops, two dresses, lots of accessories and a few outfit ideas for your minis.

I'm not one to really dress for the holiday...I like a more subtle approach and you will see that in these two tops.

The Ren top from Stella and Dot is one of my FAVORITES.  I have it in black and gray already.  They came out with some new colors for the spring line and this tomato red is PERFECT for Valentine's Day.  It's more of a thicker t-shirt material compared to the previous Rens.  Fit is great.  I size up for a looser fit.  And what's nice about this top is you can dress it up or down.

This poncho is SO soft and very versatile...dress it up or down.  I'm wearing it on the casual side but you can through it off the shoulder pair it with a big earring and heels and you are good for a night.  It also transforms into a cardigan if you'd prefer that look.

Looking to go a little dressier...what about one of these dress options?

This is a super soft velvet shift dress from Charles Henry.  The color is good mix of pink and red perfect for Valentine's Day.  It's not form fitting which is perfect if you are going for a nice dinner...you don't have to worry about not eating.  :)

Depending on the weather where you live, this ASTR the Label dress could be perfect.  There are LOTS of colors to pick from including red or this pink toned one.  Remember it runs REALLY small so size up TWO sizes.

How about some FABULOUS accessories...

The color pop earrings are FABULOUS because you can interchange to have all different pops of color and shapes.  Comes with a whole bunch of combos you can play with including hearts for Valentine's Day!

How about a fun pouch/clutch.  I love the bright colors featured in this Amour one.  Perfect for all types of occasions.  Definitely gives your outfit a little something more with all the fun colors!!!

It's hard to tell in this picture but I LOOOOOOVE these hammer hoop heart earrings.  If you've been following me for a while then you know I wear the small and big hammer hoops ALL the time.  Well I'm adding these to that rotation.  Super lightweight and perfect for your Valentine's Day look!

And for your minis...

Five Friday Favorites - Stella and Dot Spring Line

I am OBSESSED with everything in Stella and Dot's new spring line with tops, jewels and bags!  It was hard to narrow down but sharing my FIVE favorites in this week's Five Friday Favorites.

#1 - Stripe Ruffle Pullover

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this ruffle pullover.  It's super comfortable and has stretchy material.  Very flattering and I just love the ruffle cut out detail on either side.  You can dress it up or down.  This will be a staple now and through the spring.  Also comes in solid blue.

#2 - Crush it Backpack
backpack / jacket / leggings / sneakers (similar)

As a mom of two sometimes it's just easy to carry a backpack instead of a purse but I never could find that perfect backpack that had function but was also stylish...until now.  Love the simple black quilted look with rose gold accents.  I use it when I'm with the kids, needing to transport my laptop or just running errands.  Would also make for a great workout bag...has straps to hold a yoga mat and the bottom unzips for your shoes.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

#3 - New Rebel Collection

The gold Rebel necklace has been a staple in my wardrobe for YEARS long before I ever joined Stella and Dot.  It's a classic piece that goes with SO many outfits.  I was SO excited for this new twist on the Rebel with stone detail and coordinating earrings and bracelets.  I went full rose gold this time and I LOVE it.  Definitely going to be another staple jewelry piece.

I sneakily snuck two in here because it was SO hard to narrow it down to only five favorites.  I have been loving this faux wrap style of tops so I had to try this one and it didn't disappoint.  Fits great, super flattering and you can dress it up or down.  Also comes in black.  True to size.  I snuck in another favorite the Gitane necklace...love the different color beads and the tassel.  Will be another go-to jewelry piece.

I love the traditional hammer hoops both big and small but I wasn't entirely sold on the heart ones.  I decided last minute to give them a try and I'm SO glad I did.  They are my FAVORITE new hoops to wear to subtly spice up and outfit.  Super cute and lightweight and will go with SO many outfits.  Also comes in silver too.

Saturday Sorting - Kids Art and Activity Closet

As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, I'm in an in-between phase of my career so I'm home for a while.  Part of this "at home" life is purging and reorganizing my entire house.  I've already taken three trips with full car loads for donations and it feels SOOO good.  I'm going to be sharing all the organizing on my weekly Saturday Sorting posts.  First up in my kids "art" closet.  In order to contain all the kids arts and activity sets we decided to convert our hall closet which wasn't getting much use into their closet.  I didn't do any construction because I wanted to be able to convert it back at some point.  I got a bunch of stuff at Target and went to town.  Here was the final result -

We tried our best to separate it into categories to make it easier for the kids to put things back.  On the top are all the art activities that the kids need us to play (they can't reach)...the stuff that gets really messy and must have our supervision.  The hanging shelves are the things they play with most workbooks, kit for doing homework (pencils, erasers, sharpeners) and Osmo (we tried to eliminate as many boxes as we could so we have organizers and then Monster is out of its box with drawing pad and markers and Pizza and Detective are still in boxes.

To the left the white plastic containers are a mix of things.  The top three pull out drawers contain stickers and other art stuff and the bigger bottom three drawers are all the Lego sets in plastic bags separated by project.

Then we have two rolling carts with ALL things art!  Crayons, colored pencils, markers, coloring books, plain notebooks, scratch art, painting supplies, etc.

Here's an up close shot of one of them so you can see how I separated everything.  On the top are two bins separating the crayons and colored pencils.

Five Friday Favorites - Recent Finds

It's been a while since I've done a Five Friday Favorites and even longer since I've done a quick rundown of some of my favorite recent purchases (or gifts) so here it goes -

#1 - Amazon Dress for the Win
Love the ruffle detail on this dress...wear it in spring/fall with booties and wedges in the summer.  Lots of color options available and I've seen this one go on lightning deal so follow me on Facebook and I will alert you!! BIG thanks to Hubs for gifting this to me.

#2 - Oversized Sweater
This oversized sweater was a Christmas gift to myself.  I've tried to expand my color palette in the winter past black, navy and cream and this ON SALE sweater from Leith does the trick.  Love the oversized coziness of it.  And it's soft.  Highly recommend.

#3 - Colorblock Super Soft Sweater
I added this sweater to my last Amazon Wardrobe box because I was intrigue by the colorblock and it's been years since I wore anything Michael Stars.  I LOVE this sweater.  It's SOOO soft and like nothing I own.  It is going to pair so nicely with my new necklace and charm.  Other color options available.

#4 - Live-In Leggings
I picked up these leggings during Athleta's holiday 20% off sale and I'm OBSESSED.  You all know I wear a lot of black so these are a perfect twist.  I think I've worn them at least once a week since I got them.  Highly recommend.  And for you shorties...they come in petite!!!

#5 - Free People Top
My friend got me this Free People ribbed top for Christmas and I love it.  And no not because it's black (also comes in blush) but because it has a cute peek-a-boo back.  Flowy but flattering.  Highly recommend.

#6 - An extra for good measure

It's been SO long since I did one of these that it's been hard to narrow it down. Finally Spanx are available in petite and now I know what all the hype is about...I'M OBSESSED.  So comfortable and flattering.  I sized up to a medium.  Here's hoping they make more color options in petite like the camo!!!

Where Have I Been??

You have probably noticed that since the beginning of 2019, I've been absent on the blog, Facebook and Instagram.  Don't worry, all is great here.  I've decided that I wanted to take a few weeks to really recenter myself, be present with my family and detach a little from technology...and it's been SO AMAZING!

2019 is the beginning of a new chapter of my 36 (almost 37 years on this planet).  For the first time in my adult life, I don't know what's next for me with my career.  As many of you know, I spent the past nine years working at Discovery.  Last year, the company decided it was going to move most of its operations to NYC.  While I love going there for work, it wasn't something my husband and I wanted for our family. With that, I left the company at the end of 2018.  It was SO bittersweet with LOTS of tears.  And for the past 2+ weeks, I've haven't been going into an office every day.  It's definitely been weird but very productive (with a little laziness...thanks to finally binge watching The Handmaid's Tale).  I've been spending most of my days while the kids are in school purging (I think we are on trip 3 of dropping off donations), organizing and checking things off my to do list that have been there for YEARS!

I'm getting into a good rhythm so I will be back on here and my social media accounts posting the latest deals, favorite finds, all the organizing tips from the past few weeks and of course my OOTD...but those are going to look a little more like this now...

Will keep you all posted on where I land next because this is just a brief layover before my next career move...
