Five Friday Favorites - Recent Finds

It's been a while since I've done a Five Friday Favorites and even longer since I've done a quick rundown of some of my favorite recent purchases (or gifts) so here it goes -

#1 - Amazon Dress for the Win

Love the ruffle detail on this dress...wear it in spring/fall with booties and wedges in the summer.  Lots of color options available and I've seen this one go on lightning deal so follow me on Facebook and I will alert you!! BIG thanks to Hubs for gifting this to me.   

#2 - Oversized Sweater

This oversized sweater was a Christmas gift to myself.  I've tried to expand my color palette in the winter past black, navy and cream and this ON SALE sweater from Leith does the trick.  Love the oversized coziness of it.  And it's soft.  Highly recommend.

#3 - Colorblock Super Soft Sweater

I added this sweater to my last Amazon Wardrobe box because I was intrigue by the colorblock and it's been years since I wore anything Michael Stars.  I LOVE this sweater.  It's SOOO soft and like nothing I own.  It is going to pair so nicely with my new necklace and charm.  Other color options available. 

#4 - Live-In Leggings

I picked up these leggings during Athleta's holiday 20% off sale and I'm OBSESSED.  You all know I wear a lot of black so these are a perfect twist.  I think I've worn them at least once a week since I got them.  Highly recommend.  And for you shorties...they come in petite!!!

#5 - Free People Top

My friend got me this Free People ribbed top for Christmas and I love it.  And no not because it's black (also comes in blush) but because it has a cute peek-a-boo back.  Flowy but flattering.  Highly recommend. 

#6 - An extra for good measure

It's been SO long since I did one of these that it's been hard to narrow it down. Finally Spanx are available in petite and now I know what all the hype is about...I'M OBSESSED.  So comfortable and flattering.  I sized up to a medium.  Here's hoping they make more color options in petite like the camo!!!

October #OOTD Favorites

Happy Halloween!  I don't know about you but I'm only mid-way through the week and already exhausted based on the kids schedules...with no school Monday, two Halloween parties and a half day today, I'm ready for the weekend!  I can't believe it's the last day of October already.  Only two more months left in 2018...crazy!!!  Let's revisit some of my favorite looks from this past month -

Five Friday Favorites - Recent Purchases

Lots of amazing fall items out there that I wanted to share my Five Favorite recent purchases.  A diverse grouping of stores with some of the items on sale.  Everything in this list is under $50!  So here we go...in no particular order. 

#1 - Universal Thread Utility Jacket

This is a great utility jacket from Target's Universal Thread line.  Soft material.  Lightweight.  Perfect item to layer when we have these weird early fall temperatures...cool then hot and cool again.  Fit is true to size. 

#2 - Ruffle Sleeve Dress

LOVE, LOVE this dress.  It's the perfect transition dress this season but also from winter to spring.  Great price point at under $40.  Comes in a bunch of colors.  True to size.   

#3 - Everleigh Blouse

I LOVE this blouse.  It's super cute for work or play.  This came in my last Trunk Club and it was love at first try on.  Lots of great detail.  Surplice style with bow tie sleeves.  Comes in a bunch of colors and is currently on sale. 

#4 - Faux Wrap Top

I don't know what I love more about this top - the color or the faux wrap style.  Super soft cotton,  Very flattering style and is perfect for work or play.  Pair with jeans or dress pants.  True to size.  And it's just under $50 but you know I'll be on the look out for it to go on sale.  

#5 - Hooded Top

I've be really loving the Daily Ritual brand from Amazon and this hoodie is AMAZING.  So soft and comfortable.  Comes in other colors.  And it's under $30!  I sized up for a looser fit.  Definitely recommend this!  

Five Friday Favorites - Fall Transition Must Haves

This week's Five Friday Favorites is focused on transition pieces and what are the key items to have in your closet as we move to fall and cooler temperatures.

#1 - Utility/Field Jacket

The weather can be unpredictable as we transition to fall.  Lately around here it's been rainy and gloomy almost 24/7.  It's days like that where a field jacket is perfect.  You can layer to keep warm when the temperature drops and it protects you from the elements.  In addition to these two looks, I'm also a big fan of J.Crew's field jacket.  

 #2 - Dark Wash, No Holes Jeans

My closet is full of all sorts of jeans...cropped, boot cut, skinny, distressed but the one style I have an overwhelming amount of is basic, no holes, no tears, simple dark skinny jeans.  They go with anything everything.  And you don't have to spend a fortune on them.  Two of my favorite brands shown above are Kut from the Kloth and Wit and Wisdom and they are under $100!  

#3 - Basic (but cozy) Long Sleeve Tee

In the fall, especially on the weekends I live in a cozy long sleeve tee.  I have a few in my collection that are my go-tos but just added two more that I'm obsessed with and they are very reasonably priced.  If you are looking for a new, affordable brand of basic cotton pieces then definitely check out Daily Ritual at Amazon!  

 #4 - Printed Blouse

Since I can't wear cozy tops every day of the week, I have to have a couple of cute blouses (that are still comfortable) that can be worn to work or date night.  I actually haven't updated the ones I have in my closet in a while but ended up picking up these two from Anthropologie.  Love these because they are unique and not everyone will have them.

The fall transition weather can be unpredictable...some days its cold and other days it starts off cool but then ends up summer like.  That's why I have several cardigans in my closet to throw on and layer during those days but they also work in the late fall and winter months.

Five Friday Favorites #29

This week's Five Friday Favorites have NOTHING  to do with the Anniversary Sale.  Here's what I'm loving this week -

#1 - Free People Adds to Nordstrom Rack

Many of my favorite Free People finds from this season have been moved over to Nordstrom Rack and really good prices.  My top five favorites (and same with you guys based on your shopping) are - smocked dress (as seen above), embroidered dress, lace tank (as seen above), henley tee and ombre henley.  All great finds...just wish I had got them at these prices. 

#2 - Target Find - Babydoll Dress

Target is having 20% off dresses with code DRESS20. Highly recommend taking advantage of this sale and snag this super cute Who What Wear dress. LOVE the babydoll style with the ruffle sleeves. And the white trim detail is perfection. So cute!! True to size. 

#3 - Ulani Stackable Ring

I am obsessed with this Ulani ring...comes with two stackable rings and they are just FABULOUS! Fits true to size. I am going to be wearing these ALL.THE.TIME now. Highly recommend. 

 #4 - Target Lemon Pajamas

I LOVE pajamas...and I LOVE very affordable pajamas even more. How cute are these Target ones. Soft material. Very comfortable. And they are $20!! I sized up for a looser fit. Pack these with me this weekend at my parents.  

#5 - Deanna Cuff 

This leather Stella and Dot cuff is so amazing.  Mix of edge and chic.  It's adjustable with three different sizes so it fits small wrists like mine.  Light weight...you don't even feel like you are wearing one.  Highly recommend. 

Five Friday Favorites #28

With the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opening to the public today I felt like I HAD to focus today's Five Friday Favorites on my five favorite purchases so far.  And if you missed last week, I highlighted my five longtime favorites that are available at the sale this year.  Check that out here.


#1 - BB Dakota Faux Leather Jacket

LOVE, LOVE this BB Dakota Faux leather jacket.  The quality is AMAZING for faux leather...looks real very real.  This is the perfect color...best blend of gray and beige!  It also comes in black.  True to size.  

#2 - 1901 Varsity Dress 

1901 Varsity dress. Great shift style, soft cotton and very flattering. Dress it up or down. I'm wearing an XSP but it was kind of short so I might get the XS just to see length difference. Get this look - dress and shoes.

#3 - Vince Camuto Booties

 Vince Camuto can do know wrong when it comes to booties.  I may have gotten three pairs last year and told myself I wasn't going to get another pair until I laid my eyes on these and I had to have them.  Love the color and the fit.  They will be a staple this fall/winter for sure.  True to size and other colors available.  PS - If the Free People shirt I'm wearing would have been a little smaller (def size down if you get it) then it would have made this list too. 

#4 - Caslon Sweater

 LOVE this Caslon sweater. Has a big turtleneck which I love, nice long length and I really like the speckle fabric. Highly recommend. True to size, wearing an XS. Comes in a bunch of colors and it's under $50!  Get this look - sweater, jeans, boots. 

#5 - Vince Camuto Blouse

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Vince Camuto blouse.  Technically I didn't buy it in the store BUT immediately regretted it after I got home so I bought it yesterday.  Everything about this is perfection...gathered sleeves, ruched neck and I'm OBSESSED with the color.  Love the modern take on a Victorian look.  Will be perfect for work or a night out.  Lots of other colors to pick from.  True to size but if you are on the shorter side, you might want to consider petite (that's what I'm wearing).
