Five Friday Favorites - Fourth of July Sales

There are SO many great sales going on for the long Fourth of July weekend so I wanted to focus this week's Five Friday Favorites on the ones I think are the best.

#1 - Anthropologie

October #OOTD Favorites

Happy Halloween!  I don't know about you but I'm only mid-way through the week and already exhausted based on the kids schedules...with no school Monday, two Halloween parties and a half day today, I'm ready for the weekend!  I can't believe it's the last day of October already.  Only two more months left in 2018...crazy!!!  Let's revisit some of my favorite looks from this past month -

Five Friday Favorites - Fall Transition Must Haves

This week's Five Friday Favorites is focused on transition pieces and what are the key items to have in your closet as we move to fall and cooler temperatures.

#1 - Utility/Field Jacket

The weather can be unpredictable as we transition to fall.  Lately around here it's been rainy and gloomy almost 24/7.  It's days like that where a field jacket is perfect.  You can layer to keep warm when the temperature drops and it protects you from the elements.  In addition to these two looks, I'm also a big fan of J.Crew's field jacket.  

 #2 - Dark Wash, No Holes Jeans

My closet is full of all sorts of jeans...cropped, boot cut, skinny, distressed but the one style I have an overwhelming amount of is basic, no holes, no tears, simple dark skinny jeans.  They go with anything everything.  And you don't have to spend a fortune on them.  Two of my favorite brands shown above are Kut from the Kloth and Wit and Wisdom and they are under $100!  

#3 - Basic (but cozy) Long Sleeve Tee

In the fall, especially on the weekends I live in a cozy long sleeve tee.  I have a few in my collection that are my go-tos but just added two more that I'm obsessed with and they are very reasonably priced.  If you are looking for a new, affordable brand of basic cotton pieces then definitely check out Daily Ritual at Amazon!  

 #4 - Printed Blouse

Since I can't wear cozy tops every day of the week, I have to have a couple of cute blouses (that are still comfortable) that can be worn to work or date night.  I actually haven't updated the ones I have in my closet in a while but ended up picking up these two from Anthropologie.  Love these because they are unique and not everyone will have them.  

 #5 - Layering Cardigan

The fall transition weather can be unpredictable...some days its cold and other days it starts off cool but then ends up summer like.  That's why I have several cardigans in my closet to throw on and layer during those days but they also work in the late fall and winter months.  

Fourth of July Looks

Put together a few cute looks that you can recreate for the Fourth of July holiday next week.  Tried to pick some that were pretty casual but could be dressed up or down. 

#1 - Pop of Red

Love this look and not just for Fourth of July.  Went for pops of color with the shoes and the bold lip - top, jeans, necklace, shoes, and lipstick.

 
#2 - Casual Dress

The Anthropologie dress keeps going in and out of stock so grab it while you can. True to size. Super fun. Dress it up with heels or keep it casual with flats.

#3 - Casual with a Twist

Simple and casual tank and jean shorts.  Love this look...easy and comfortable.  Throw on this cute kimono from Target if you are a little cool and to get the full red, white and blue look. 

#4 - Graphic Tee 

And then you can go simple casual with a fun graphic tee.  I mean who doesn't love rose!  And it's super affordable.  True to size.  More of a beer girl, don't worry, I've got you covered with this one.  

Five Friday Favorites #25

Focusing this week's Five Friday Favorites on some of my favorite recent purchases...

#1 Marc Fisher Wedges

I finally listened to what so many of you have been saying...get a pair of Marc Fisher wedges!  I bit the bullet when Nordstrom was having Triple Points and sooo glad I did.  LOVE these.  They are sooo comfortable.  I went with the blush color but it's more of a nudge.  They are going to be worn all the time this summer!  Shop other pieces in this look  - tank (under $10) and skirt. 

#2 - Target Stripe Dress & #3 - Tory Burch Miller Sandals

Obsessed with this Target A New Day dress...and it's under $25!  It so flattering.  Should be midi length but on my short frame it's more like maxi.  Some folks have complained about the coverage in the arm pit area but I wasn't having an issue.  Love, love this.  True to size.  

I've had black patent Tory Burch Miller sandals for years now and have been wanting to add a nude pair so when Neimans' had a sale which allowed me to get these discounted, I jumped at the chance. And just like my patent ones, I LOVE these.  They go with so many outfits.  If you haven't treated yourself to a pair of these, I highly recommend you do!   

#4 - 1901 Stripe Dress

I LOVE this 1901 dress!  It's so comfortable.  Figure flattering.  And it has POCKETS!  There's also a cute tie detail in the back. Comes in a navy/blue option as well.  Shop the other pieces in my look - necklace and shoes.  

#5 - Maeve Dress from Anthropologie 

I listed this dress last but I probably should have listed it first because it's my FAVORITE new dress.  I picked it up during the Mother's Day sale.  It is super cute and very figure flattering.  Comes in a few other colors/prints.  It's by a favorite Anthro brand of mine - Maeve.  And I'm wearing my new favorite Marc Fisher shoes.

DRESSING ROOM DIARIES - Anthropologie Haul

The week before Christmas Anthropologie had some AMAZING sales that I took advantage of and wanted to share all of my try ons.  I have to start with my favorites from my purchases.

I got this dress for a STEAL at $70.  Picked it up when they were offering a discount on the already reduced price.  It retailed for $168!!  Love the wrap style with the ruffles.  It's going to be the perfect spring dress!  It runs true to size.  I didn't do a petite because I was worried it would be too short and I'm glad I didn't.  If you haven't already figured out, this was a keeper!!!  Shop full look below -

I'm on the hunt for a look for an upcoming Februrary wedding.  If you've been following for a while you saw me post this dress.  I love a good jumpsuit and wanted to try this one.  It was just ok on.  I didn't feel great in it.  I went petite because of the pant length.  I think I would have liked this more if it was a wide leg full length pant.  True to size and also comes in a green color.  The jumpsuit does look good with my Constantine earrings.

I was loving the pattern on this shirt when I saw it online but didn't love the fit at all.  I got an XS and I was drowning in it.  It did pair nicely with my Top Shop gold pumps!  Shop the full look below.

I really, really wanted this kimono to work.  My boss has it and she looked amazing it in so I had to have it.  Unfortunately I'm about six or seven inches shorter than her so it just doesn't work on me.  It's a beautiful pattern.  I highly recommend to anyone that's over 5'5" and it's on sale right now...with an extra discount taken at checkout making it under $50.  Shop look details below.

Recaping this week's OOTD
