Italy Recommendations

So sorry I've been MIA. Works been absolutely nuts and in the meantime I'm trying to get everything ready for our trip. Unfortunately, I'm out of town for work from Sunday through Wednesday and then we leave Thursday...not enough time to plan so I need your help. Please send me any recommendations for our trip. We are spending four nights on the Amalfi Coast, three nights in Rome and two nights in Venice. Feel free to leave me a comment or send me an email christinasfavoritethings@gmail.com. Thanks!

We were just in Italy in July - Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany (stayed in Arezzo and shopped the Prada outlet in Montevarchi). I have been slowly posting some pictures on my blog - Vatican yesterday and Rome a little while ago. I'll be doing posts on the Amalfi Coast area soon. Positano was gorgeous (we had a rental car the entire trip and driving was crazy!!) We had a nice dinner at Bruno. Pompeii was breathtaking and takes quite awhile to see. Be prepared for gray dust if you go. Oplontis was also so interesting to see. Enjoy the gelato! We love the food there :) Please feel free to leave a comment if you have any specific questions and I'd be glad to try to help. xo

You are going to LOVE ITALY! Go to the Spanish steps in the evening time and find the hidden stairs to the right of them while walking up. Go down those stairs and eat at the restaurant with the red and white awnings. TRY THE ZUCCHINI FLOWERS STUFFED WITH CHEESE! Probably the best meal we had in ROME :) Can't wait to see your pictures! Venice is probably my least favorite and the food isn't great. Don't eat at the tourist traps, eat where the locals go and they are usually hidden back off the streets.

When in Rome, try to eat in the Trastevere(spelling?) area. Your concierge will know where it is-all of the locals eat there. We ate at Capo De Ferro there, best meal we had in Rome. It's an up and coming area where the locals all hang out. Restaurants there are not super fancy, but food is unbelievable- and so reasonably priced. you will love the pizza places in rome, you buy your slices by the pound! Also, the double decker touring buses are super easy to get around on-hop on and off. Have fun! Venice is unique-so cool how it is on water! Watch if it RAINS- don't walk thru St. Mark's square(like so many people), there is a ton of pigeon poop on the ground. we saw people walking thru the water without shoes on(it floods with water during a hard rain)-yuk! You will have the time of your life! Enjoy

Ahhh I'm so jealous - you guys are going to have such a great time!! On the Amalfi Coast - go to Ravello (we got engaged there at the Terrace of Infinity), Positano, and Capri. In Rome, be sure to toss a coin in the Trevi fountain and make a wish! I also loved visiting Vatican City and seeing the Sistene Chapel!

One of the best things we did in Rome was climb to the top of the dome at St. Peter's. The view is breathtaking and you can see all of Rome.
