Have you read the book "A Year in Provence" by Peter Mayle? Might just be my all-time fav' book ever- was the first in the whole movement of books where someone quits their job, buys a run-down building and lives their life. Lots of amazing meals, stories about the locals and an English couple's efforts to spruce up their centuries old Provencal farmhouse.
