Favorite Sunnies for Summer

The sun is shining and looks like spring is finally here...though some days its been feeling like summer.  Here's a quick round up of my favorite sunglasses to keep you styled but avoiding the wrinkle causing eye squint.

First up are the Influencer glasses.  These are a new add this year.  Love the tortoise look. I was a little hesitant about the shape as its not one I normally pick but I love it.  They are super fun and a must have accessory this spring/summer!

I usually don't buy this many pairs of sunglasses a season but I was in need of a refresh of my selection and these Influencer ones from Stella and Dot are my go-to pair.  Every girl needs a basic black pair and these fit the bill.  They block out the sun sooo well.  And they just released an olive green version.  I'm partial to the noir pair but the olive is cute too.  Highly recommend!

I LOVE a good pair of aviators...especially at the beach to help avoid tan lines on the bridge of my nose.  I've had the gold/brown pair for a long time...probably three years (based on big mini in the pic).  I added a pair of silver ones this year from Shopbop which I love.  You can't go wrong with this classic style.

PS - I'm strongly considering chopping my hair like it is in this picture...what do you think?

And lastly, I always like to have a cheap pair of sunglasses in my car/a pair I don't care if they get ruined.  BP has a fabulous pair for $14!!!  I went with the tortoise/rose gold option but lots of other choices including a black pair.

Saturday Sorting: Dresser Drawers

I don't know how many times a year I end up reorganizing my dresser drawers because they always end up messy no matter how hard I try to keep them clean...until now.  I finally found a system that will help them stay organized all year long.

Meet my new best friend, the drawer divider.  I'm obsessed with these and will be buying them for my kids rooms next.  I simply pick where I want to divide the drawer, fit the divider in place, lock it and then voila - organization!

For this particular drawer (my short and long sleeve tees), I found somewhat rolling the tops really maximizes the space and I can actually see everything I have.  The dividers help separate between long and short sleeve and tanks.

Here's the finished product with my athleisure wear...I've separated the long sleeve and short sleeve/tanks and the shorts and pants/leggings.

I've already started on my girls' drawers but used a different one for little minis panties/socks/tights because I wanted a little more height.  Click here for that version.

Shop both sets of dividers below -

Five Friday Favorites #23

#1 - Coola Sunless Serum
Image result for coola sunless serum
I've been using this for about a month now and LOVING it.  I put one to two pumps in my night cream and mix it together and apply on my face, neck and chest.  Gives me just a slight glow/color so I don't look so pastey.  Looks very natural.  And you can find it on Amazon and order it for Subscribe and Save for a discount!

#2 - Love everything about this outfit
I'm absolutely LOVING this outfit...and it's super affordable. The skirt has more pink in it...the picture makes it look very orange. Shop full look - shirt, earrings, necklace, skirt, bracelet, bracelet (20%), shoes.

#3 - Favorite engravable jewelry...great Mother's Day gift
Image may contain: text
I LOVE the engravables line from Stella and Dot.  They make such great presents and right now they are all 20% off!!!  This make the PERFECT Mother's Day gift.  My husband was gifting these to me before I joined as a stylist.  My favorites include delicate bar, bar cuff, wishing bracelet and round disc.

#4 - Dyson Hair Dryer

I decided to finally try the Dyson blow dryer.  I know its a big price tag but I have SO much hair and I'm constantly burning through them so when Sephora offered 15% off, I jumped at the chance to try.  I've used it twice (I try and wash my hair three times a week) and so far I'm obsessed.  Drying time is half and my hair is so much softer after.  I'll keep you all posted but so far I love it.  Nordstrom is having triple points right now so if you were going to get it, take advantage now.

#5 - Steven by Steve Madden Sandals
If you follow me on Facebook then you have no doubt seen my new sandal obsession - Steven by Steve Madden Greece sandals.  They come in a bunch of great colors but I'm partial to the white.  They go with everything.  Not the greatest support but not uncomfortable.  I'll definitely be wearing them all spring an summer long.  You can buy them from a whole bunch of places including Lord and Taylor, Amazon, and Dillards

My Top Five Outfits from April

I can't believe it's May already...let's take a look back at April with my five favorite #OOTD.

Like so many of you, I was so excited for the Living in Yellow x Gibson collaboration and I think this yellow shirt is definitely my favorite piece from the line.  Perfect top for all year long.  Shop the full outfit - shirt, jeans, shoes (similar).

I'm 2 for 2 lately with Free People tops...which is very rare for me as they are usually too big.  Here are two of my favorite new tops in their full looks!
 Top

Love this casual eyelet top from LOFT.  It runs a bit big so you might want to size down.  And you can beat the amazing price for the blush flats from Target.  Shop full look - top, camisole, jeans, shoes

I couldn't have a fav outfits post without an all black outfit.  :)  This new statement necklace is going to be my go-to piece with my all black outfits.  Shop it all here - top, necklace, pants, flats

Saturday Sorting: Organizing Makeup, Hair and Other Beauty Products

One of my goals of 2108 was to really declutter my life...organize and stay organized in all aspects of life.  There are parts of my life where I am so buttoned up and other parts I definitely could use help.  With having a full-time job, the blog, kids and life in general it's been a slow process but I want to start documenting it for all of you and hopefully give some helpful tips and products to do your own organizing.  Let's start with one small area but was a big mess -

First up is the cabinet under my bathroom sink.  That is always a mess, constantly cluttered and unorganized.  I wish I had taken a before picture but I'm so happy with the end result.

On the right hand side, I added an acrylic make up organizer.  The one I had prior was probably 10 years old and was in bad shape.  I picked this one because 1) it fit my space and 2) all the compartments would help keep things organized.  The one I had prior was just three drawers so things got cluttered fast.

The drawers are a variety of sizes and the top has sections for make up brushes, and my everyday products.  Each of the drawers comes with a cushion mat.

On the left side, my curling irons, flat iron, blow dryer and brushes needed some help!  This styling station saved the day!  Everything has a place! I put all my hair gadgets in their respective places and my brushes in the back.  Since I use my flat iron almost every day, it just rests in its protective case in front of the organizer

And then in the center of the cabinet I have a cute white bin with some odds and ends like my Amope, hair spray, Neti pot and others.  Simple solution but keeps it organized and out of the way.

Pick up all the organizing products down here -

Five Friday Favorites #22 - Look for Less Edition

I decided to dedicate this week's Five Friday Favorites to some recent fabulous Look for Less finds...

Main Image - Sole Society Stripe Envelope Clutch
First up is my favorite summer clutch.  This was actually gifted to me by my husband last year...way before I ever became an official Stella and Dot stylist.  As you can see I use the Taj clutch ALL.THE.TIME.  Well I was shocked when I saw a near dupe.  Unfortunately the look for less version from Sole Society is sold out but you can still get my version here.

A good pair of denim short is key in the spring and summer months.  I've had a pair of Paige ones (on the left) for a few years now (snagged a pair at Nordstrom Rack).  They aren't cheap so I was so excited when the Universal Thread line debuted a fabulous and almost identical pair for UNDER $20 and they are fabulous!!!  Both fit true to size.  I look a looser fit so I tend to size up.

Women's Ruffle Sleeve Crepe Dress - A New Dayâ„¢ Pink - image 1 of 3

I snagged this Felicity and Coco dress awhile back and love everything about it...the fit, the style and the color just pops!  It's actually on sale right now but even that price doesn't beat this look for less version from Target's A New Day line.  I haven't tried it on in person but this Target dress is very similar so I had to share.  And both dresses would look fabulous with these earrings!

Full disclosure, I haven't tried either of these shoes yet but I've been eyeing the Caslon for a while because I love the poppy color. I haven't pulled the trigger because I couldn't justify the price for shoe that I wasn't going to wear that often. Well I found a great look for less at Target in these super cute espadrilles...and you get 20% off with code SHOES.

I picked up these cupcakes and cashmere pants during the last Shopbop sale.  Unfortunately they didn't work with my height and I wish they did because they are sooo comfortable.  Damn them for not having petites.  They are a pretty pricey pair so I was excited when I saw Target had a very close look for less option and they are on clearance right now.  I haven't tried them but the reviews are awesome...nearly 5 stars!

Trunk Club #6

I hit the jackpot because I tried this Lush dress in the floral pattern but the coloring was all wrong and I really wanted the black and white polka dot one...well it showed up in my trunk this month!  It's a keeper.  Love the style, love the fit and love the pattern.  True to size.  Perfect spring/summer dress.

This was another fab dress for spring/summer.  It was between keeping the wrap and this one and the wrap one is a little more versatile for me.  Love the ruffle detail and the color is amazing.  Definitely recommend it...and it's on sale right now.  Other pieces in my look are Stella necklace and my go-to Steve Maddens.

This was a total miss for me - both the Wit & Wisdom jeans and the Chloe & Katie top.  In theory, I love the top (and it looks great on the model) but I think I'm just too short for it.  The quality is great but it just doesn't look right on me.  The jeans were a little big (wearing regular 2) and too long.  This style is supposed to be a skimmer length...definitely need petite.  I didn't love the jeans enough to exchange them.

I LOVE my Hailey Lush dress so when another color arrived in my Trunk Club box, I was so excited. Unfortunately the coral color just didn't work for me. I've exchanged it for the Pink Adobe...just waiting for it to arrive. The dress definitely runs big so I'd size down...I'm wearing an XS for reference. Shop the wine color one I have that is on sale here.

This Vince shirt wasn't a winner for me...it was way too big and I'm not sure if another size down would have made much of a difference. I love it in theory but just didn't work. However I did LOVE the jeans...they are from my go-to Kut from the Kloth. These are the Connie Skinny Ankle in petite size. I love this brand and the price.

Five Friday Favorites #21

#1 - Fun Spring Outfit
Finally we had some warm weather last week and it was great to bust out some of my new clothes.  I'm obsessed with this outfit and you better believe you will be seeing it a lot.  Just love the bold color of the top.  Shop all pieces here - top, earrings, bag (also see below), jeans and sandals

#2 - Simonne Sunnies
My new favorite sunnies from Stella and Dot are the Simonne.  Big and bold which I love.  I was skeptical at first of the quality but WOW...these are even better than the Tory Burch ones I had last year.  HIGHLY recommend.  You can get my shirt here and my earrings here

#3 - Love a Jumpsuit
If you've been following me for a while then you know I love a good jumpsuit.  I picked this mix media one up from LOFT for a work event I had.  I didn't do petite because I wanted a longer length.  Pairs so nicely with my Sam Edelman shoes from last summer which are still available here.  And for a pop of color, these lightweight turquoise ones are fabulous!

#4 - Stella & Dot Taj Clutch
Hubby got me this clutch purse last year for my birthday way before I ever became a Stella & Dot stylist.  I was so excited to pull it out this season.  As you can see from the above it goes with SO many things.  It's got a built in wallet..highly recommend!

#5 - Drawer Organizers

Caycee over at Hanging with the Hewitts has me inspired to do some more organizing.  I feel like every few months my drawers are a mess so I put my closet organization on hold and got a bunch of these drawer organizing and I've been going to town.  Follow me on Instagram because I'll probably share the final product this weekend.
