Woot!

I discovered this Rue La La type site at Life @ The White House - Woot! and I love it!

What is it? Woot.com is an online store and community that focuses on selling cool stuff cheap. Each day it sells a different item at a really cheap price - once the item is sold out, the sale is over and there is nothing new till the next day.

What kinds of products? There are all kinds of products sold - vacuums, computers, car seats, golf clubs, etc.

I haven't bought anything from hear yet but my hubby and I are in the market for a new vacuum cleaner. Hopefully something good will come up soon.

Favorite Thing #131 - Homemade Pizza

My hubby and I looove to make homemade pizza and it all started when we had dinner at our friends Lisa and Lee's house. We had it at their house one night and from then on we make it at our house one every two weeks or so. It is so easy to make -

1. Start with pizza dough. We prefer the whole wheat pizza dough from Trader Joe's but we've also used Pillsbury Pizza Crust. Roll out the pizza dough into the shape and thickness that you want (you might need some flour to help it not stick). We put the pizza dough on a Pampered Chef Baking Stone. Then spread the pizza sauce. Again we prefer Trader Joe's pizza sauce but any will do. Sprinkle the cheese and then add any toppings you want.

My hubby is the pizza master. I NEVER make it...he always does. Here he is in action sprinkling the cheese.
Here is what the pizza looks like before it goes in the oven. We are "plain Jane" eaters and prefer just cheese...sometimes pepperoni...but usually just cheese.

Bake the pizza at 350 degrees. After its been in for seven minutes turn the pizza. And after another seven minutes turn the pizza again. Then bake it until the cheese cooked how you like. We like ares a little more done as you can see below.

Still loving and using Favorite Thing #31 - Snapfish for all my photo printing and photo product needs. I really have nothing negative to say about Snapfish. I've always had A+ products and service with them. They value their customers and every couple of months I will get something free - photo book, poster print, etc. And I get 10% cash back through ebates!

I heart Vera Wang

Last week there was a Vera Wang boutique at Rue La La (if you aren't a member leave a comment and I will send you an invitation, it's a free website but you need an invite). I was so excited because I have always wanted to own a Vera Wang dress. The prices were really, really reduced. I ended up getting a super cute little black dress. It retails for $450 but I got it for $120 plus I had a $10 credit.
The picture really doesn't do it justice. My hubby took the picture from bed so the angle could have been better. I paired it with a pair of BCBG black ruffle heels I have had for five years. I will admit that the size two is a little snug but I know that it will fit with me working out again. Plus it will give me motivation to make it fit. Hopefully I can lose these last 8-10 pounds before wedding season starts. I am going to kick up my 30 day shred workouts and keep uping the time I spend on the treadmill. Also, I need to tone up my back and chest - that's where it is tight - so let me know if you have any workout suggestions.

Guest Favorite Thing - DirectTV's NFL Sunday Ticket

This guest post comes from my husband...

Anyone who knows me would agree that I am an enormous sports fan. All sports. Football, baseball, hockey, you name it. And those same people would have the same answer to the question "who is Mikey's favorite sports team?" Although I've got loyalties and love for a team in every sport, the answer, without hesitation, is the mighty Pittsburgh Steelers. One problem: I DON'T LIVE IN PITTSBURGH ANYMORE" Now, I'm not here to complain to all of you and moan about my problems (if you really want to know, just ask my wife). I am here to offer a solution to anyone who may be in a similar situation. With that I bring you the GREATEST INVENTION IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND: DirectTV's NFL Sunday Ticket.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you now have the ability....no, the power....no...wait.....the right to watch EVERY NFL GAME there is to offer. No more missing a moment of your favorite team's season. Plus, for you Fantasy Football fans out there, you have access to all of your squad's players. I am in 3 different league's and let me tell you, this service transforms every Sunday into a sports fan's Utopia. But wait.....there's more. For an additional fee, you can get SuperFan.

This lil' piece of heaven gives you the RedZone Channel which automatically switches from game to game, assuring that you don't miss any touchdowns or big plays from around the league. You simply set the remote down and let the TV do all of the work. You also get the GameMix Channel. This shows you eight....yes, eight games at once. When you want to focus in on a particular one, you simply click on it and boom....you are there. You also get Player Tracker which allows you to identify up to 18 players on your Fantasty Football teams and throughout the day, no matter what game you are watching, you will receive scrolling updates on how your team is doing.

I'll leave you all with this. My wife and I subscribe to DirectTV for one reason: The NFL Sunday Ticket. Sure we get a bunch of other stuff....blah blah blah. But this service has changed my life. Just ask my wife. Right honey??? Don't you love watching football for 12 straight hours?? I'll take that silence to mean "yes."

Oh,and one more thing.....GO STEELERS!!!!!

Favorite Thing #76 - Rue La La

This is my newest shopping obsession (thank you Ann) - Rue La La. Is an invitation-only online boutique where designers hold private sales for a brief window of time (usually two-three days). Merchandise is significantly discounted and sells out very quickly. The online boutiques are a variety of designers, both men and women's clothes, accessories, and home goods.

Membership is free but its by invitation-only. If you are interested just send me an email or leave a comment with your information and I will send you the invite. Once you are a member you can send the invite to friends and earn yourself Rue La La credit. When each new friend joins and places their first order you receive a $10 Rue La La Credit.

So far I've bought two things - a Penguin hoodie for my hubby (originally $90 bought for $39) and a pair of James Jeans for myself (originally over $100 bought for $59).

Happy Shopping!!!

Favorite Thing #31 - Snapfish

I switched over to using Snapfish as my internet photo storage place at the end of 2006 and have been super satisfied with their service. I don't just like it because it is free and easy to use but I also like the products that they have. For Christmas this year, my husband and I made leather-bound photo books for our family with all of our wedding pictures. It was great because we were able to customize them to each person with different pictures. They start at about 19.99 and make the PERFECT gift. I also love that the prints are SO cheap...9 cents per 4x6 print - you can't beat that! I also love Snapfish because I feel like a valued client. Since signing up with them I have recieved two freebie offers - one 11x14 poster print and a photo notebook. I haven't redeemed either one yet...waiting till we have moved into our new place.
