Dressing Room Diaries - Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Celebrate Summer Collection

If you have been following me for a while now, you know I love the Gibson line of clothing. Great quality, good prices and they do the best mix of on trend and classic pieces. I also love that they collaborate with some of my favorite fashion bloggers. Each collection that Cassie from Hi Sugarplum has put out has been incredible and I have to control myself and not buy every item in the collection. And that was definitely the case with her Celebrate Summer collection. I wanted everything but kept it to four pieces. Check them out!

I am OBSESSED with these shorts. Perfect high waist and nice length. You can dress them up or down. I wore them them right away the day I tried them on. So comfortable. I'm in a size small and it fit great...I like a little more room in my shorts. They also come in navy. The shorts paired nicely with a top I already had in my closet but you can also pair it with a classic Hi Sugarplum piece, Bonita tank (I have in a bunch of colors already).

dress / shoes

I love everything about this dress - the color blocking detail and the subtle ruffle trim detailed neckline. It's a very airy fabric, perfect for the summer heat. And you know what pairs nicely with the flamingo dress, my flamingo earrings! Fit is true to size, I'm in an XS. If pink isn't your things, this dress also comes in a pretty blue color block.

Let's start with the body suit. Super soft cotton and for a body suit, it's very comfortable. I love the bright pink so much...the perfect pop of color. I sized up to a small. It also comes in navy (great staple color to have in your closet. Now onto the skirt, this was a hard one to decide because I LOVE all of the print options she offered. I decided to go with this color blocked one because I loved the combination of colors. And I'm so glad I did, it doesn't disappoint. Super comfortable and you can dress it up or down. I'm wearing a small petite.

Dressing Room Diaries - Amazon June Try On

This is a FABULOUS lightweight sweatshirt from Hanes...yes probably the brand of your husbands undershirts. It has been my go-to sweatshirt for these cooler days/nights. Great for layering. And it's ONLY $8 (as of post time). Comes in a few colors. I sized up to a small.

I'm a sucker for anything seersucker or faux seersucker so when I saw this dress I HAD to try it. I love everything about it - flutter sleeves, perfect v-neck and tiered detail. Fit is true to size. If you aren't a fan of the blue/white stripe, there are other prints and solids to pick from. I wore it out already for our first date night since quarantine...and you will definitely see it again.
dress / earrings (similar) / purse / shoes

There's nothing like a white dress in the summer and this one is a fabulous, affordable find! It is lined and not see through. There are other colors available if white isn't your thing but I like the blank canvas to add pops of color with jewelry, shoes and lipstick.

I love a good jumpsuit and this one is AMAZING. Feels like you are wearing pajamas. You can dress it up or down depending on your mood. Works with most heights because it's gathered at the bottom so you can adjust. Fit is true to size and it comes in a bunch of colors.

I'm such a fan of the Daily Ritual brand and this dress doesn't disappoint. It's the perfect lounge around, work from home or run errands dress. Comes in a bunch of different colors but I'm partial to the black and white print. Fit is true to size.

This is another Daily Ritual dress win. LOVE the racerback style. Not too form fitting and has the perfect amount of swing. Again it comes in a bunch of colors. Fit is true to size. Wear on it's own or layer with a jacket.

Amazon wins again in the cover up category. I LOVE this knit one. Just the right amount of coverage and it's a fun pop of color. If pink isn't your color, don't worry it comes in a BUNCH of options. HIGHLY recommend!

Five Friday Favorites - One Piece Bathing Suits

I've been getting some requests for suggestions for one piece bathing suits so this week's Five Friday Favorites is focused on all my favorites....and there were so many I couldn't keep it to just five so enjoy the two bonus ones! And make sure you check out my post on how to keep your bathing suits organized

I've had this Cupshe one piece for a couple years now and LOVE it. The mermaid print is so cute. Full coverage with subtle built in cups. I know lots of you have bought this one and if you haven't yet, I highly recommend you do! Fit is true to size. I'm in a small.

#2 - One Shoulder
If you are looking for a one-piece that has a little more of a style element to it, then try this one shoulder one from Cupshe. Love the color blocking and subtle texture. Comes in a couple other color options but I'm partial to the baby blue and white. Fit is true to size. I'm in a small.

#3 - Palm Print
This Cupshe palm print suit so SO cute and very flattering. A not too deep v-neck with ruffle detail and small cutout. Fit is true to size. I'm in a small.

#4 - Color Blocking
I got so many compliments on this Cupshe suit last year. I love the color blocking style. It hugs in all the right places. I feel secure because it has a built in shelf bra with subtle padding. Cross style in the back. Highly recommend. Fit is true to size. I'm in a small.

#5 - Floral Print
I absolutely LOVE this floral Cupshe one. I wish it also came in a bikini style. The floral print is super cute and it has ruffle sleeve detail. It's a nice plunging neck line but not too much...my girls still felt secure. There is something about the style of this suit that I felt like it sucked my tummy in just right. Fit is true to size. I'm in a small. If floral isn't your thing, this suit also comes in a bunch of solid colors.

#6 - Deep V from J.Crew
If you are looking for something that's a little sexy, then try this deep V one from J.Crew. Definitely shows off the girls but not too in your face. Comes in a bunch of colors. Fit is true to size. I'm in a size 4. And right now you can get it 40% off with code CHECKOUT (this was as of post time).

This suit has been a fan favorite for a couple years. It's full coverage with lots of support but you don't lose the style elements. Love the straps and peek-a-boo waist. Comes in a bunch of colors and now prints. I'm loving the pink stripe and the palm versions. Fit is true to size. I'm in small.

Target Tuesday - Quarantine Try On Session #3

Is it really considered quarantine?!?!? I'm going to go with it since I can't be in public places without a mask, I have to make specific reservations to go to the pool and dining out options are limited. Until life goes back to normal...we will just say it's quarantine.

I have been loving what Target's Universal Thread brand had been coming out with this season and this shirt is another winner. Nice lightweight material. Works great with shorts or pants. Several prints to pick from but I love the white/blue one. Fit is true to size. It's meant to be a looser fit.

This is the perfect, light weight cotton dress for summer. You can throw on for really any occasion...dress it up or down. It would also work well as a swim cover up. Comes in a few colors. Fit is true to size. Highly recommend.

I love longer flowy dresses in the summer but I have a hard time finding ones that fit me in the length but thankfully with the new midi style it works. This Universal Thread one is a great example. I love the tiered detail and that the straps are thick enough that there's no issue wearing a bra. Comes in a bunch of colors (I really love the pink option). Fit is true to size.

Love this puff sleeve shirt from the A New Day brand. It's extremely versatile. You can dress it up or down and pair with shorts or pants. Fit is true to size and it comes in a few other colors. And its under $20! Highly recommend.  I've already gotten some wear out of it.

I've love the idea of a sweater tank but I wasn't a big fan of this one. I think it's specifically because of the color I chose. The color is amazing but the stitching around the top shows whatever you are wearing underneath it so unless you are going to wear a tank top or don't care if your full bra shows through, I wouldn't wear it. The other colors might be a different story.

shirt / shorts (similar) / sandals

How cute is this one shoulder top from Target's Who What Wear line. Love that you can pair it with shorts or pants. Fabulous puff sleeve detail that makes it's look a lot more expensive. It will be perfect for that first night out after quarantine and it's a great price point. Fit is true to size.

Five Friday Favorites - Pool/Beach Must Haves

I'm a simple girl when it comes to what I need at the beach/pool. Give me the sun, sand, water and a few small things and I'm a happy camper.

#1 - Beach/Pool Bag
cover up (similar) / bag / sunnies (similar)

LOVE, LOVE this beach bag. I got it over the holiday times and we have been using it non-stop since we started pool hopping. It's big enough to fit all our towels and then some plus it has a ton a of pockets to fit goggles, sunscreen, etc. HIGHLY recommend and it's under $20!

#2 - Polarized Sunnies
While I love my Ray-Ban sunnies, I have a hard time spending a lot of money on sunglasses each season because I tend to lose them or scratch them. Thankfully, last year I discovered these amazing sunnies. They are polarized and really do block out out the sun...plus they are fashionable and come in all different color options. I converted my family at the beach last year. Check them out.

#3 - Cover Up

I love a good cover up and Amazon has been my go-to spot for them the last couple of years. Lots of great styles and really good prices. Above are the new ones I got this year and below are the ones I snagged last year. I LOVE them all!

#4 - Insulated Cup
When I got to the beach, I bring two insulated cups - one is my big Yeti to have with water (and then later fill with cocktails) and the other is my Corkcicle to keep my wine (or other cocktails nice and cool).

#5 - Phone Cover
I don't bring a camera down to the beach anymore....instead it's my phone so I need something to protect it. I got these cases last year and LOVED them. We will use them every year. Easy to use and definitely protects your phone from water and sand.

#6 - Good Book...and I'm now going to try a Kindle
See the source image
I had to add a sixth one this week because there is nothing like curling up at the beach or pool with a great book. Now that my minis are getting older, it's much easier for me to read. I did end up ordering a Kindle on sale yesterday based on the feedback from my Facebook post. It's still on sale (as of post time) so check it out if you are interested in joining me. Here are some of my all time favorite beach reads...and a few recent reads from last summer.

Anything by Emily Giffin but my all time favorites are Something Borrowed and Something Blue.
Some of my favorites from last summer - Tattooist of Auschwitz, Where the Crawdad Sings, Little Fires Everywhere, The Other Woman, Before We Were Yours and The Woman in the Window. I just finished The Nightingale and about to start Sold on a Monday.

Quarantine Organizing - A Little of This, A Little of That

Over the last few weeks of quarantine, I've done A LOT of organizing and purging. My basement is currently a hot mess because that's where I've been storing everything we are getting rid of, sell or aren't using right now. I plan to start tackling it next week in the hopes that I can do a big drop off donation. Let me take you through these simple organizational projects that have made our house more tidy and easier to find things.

I've become really into diffusing essential oils and I needed a way to better organize my oil collection (eventually I will get around to doing a full blog post all about why I love it but till I get around to it, if you are interested in getting oils, I recommend doing the starter kit). I wanted them to be stored in our pantry for easy access. This nail polish holder from Amazon worked perfectly...and I have lots of remove to add more.

Under my bathroom sink has always been a hard area to keep organized. I got the right side figured out last year when I added the make up organizer (similar) but I struggled with the left side...until quarantine.

The tiered organizer which I also have under the kitchen sink made all the difference. I have my hair electronics on the top portion and brushes and wash clothes on the bottom. In the white basket, I have my hair spray, eye masks and sheet masks. It all fits perfectly!

Our house has a lot of storage except in bathrooms. The only real bathroom storage we have is in the minis bathroom. That closet ALWAYS gets out of hand because we basically store everything in there. I decided to separate everything into categories - kids health, first aid, adult meds, kids teeth, etc. Once I did that then I used the bins/containers I already had to organizer everything. It's a little mismatched but I wanted to save the $$ since once you close the door no one sees it. The best go-to bins are the white (and one blue) ones I used throughout.  Highly recommend.

One of my BIGGEST frustrations with our organization was towels and sheets. Everything was just all over the place and constantly getting messy. But I solved this problem with a $12.99 bin from Target.

I separated everything that was on the top shelf of my guest room closet (I wish I had taken a before picture) into four categories - sheets, towels, guest stuff (sheets/towels) and beach towels. Then I got four bins to put everything in. I rolled the towels for a better fit. So far everything is staying organized...even Hubs can mange to put things away the right way. Here's an up close look at how I have everything -

Five Friday Favorites - Accessories for Summer

With it starting to feel like summer (it's only a few weeks away) and states starting to slowly open things up, I think I'd focus this week's Five Friday Favorites on my favorite accessories all but one are from last season, are still available and I'll be wearing them all summer.

#1 - Statement Earrings
earrings / romper (similar)

I LOVE these $15 earrings from Amazon. They are lightweight and SO fun summer. There are SO many great colors to pull from your summer wardrobe.  I sometimes find myself buying pieces in my wardrobe to go with the earrings! Highly recommend. I've already worn them a couple of times this season.

Outfit #1 - earrings / shirt / jeans / shoes
Outfit #2 - earrings / shirt / sunnies / purse / shorts (similar) / shoes

#2 - Enso Rings

Normally this is my ring for spring/summer on the weekends by I've been rocking it since we were in quarantine. It so lightweight and durable. They come in a ton of colors. These are perfect for when you are at the pool and the beach.

#3 - Best. Sunnies. Ever
These are seriously the best sunnies ever. I discovered them last year and got my whole step family hooked. They block the sun, are very fashionable AND an amazing under $20 price point. I've been wearing them all quarantine.

Outfit #1 - sunnies / dress / shoes
Outfit #2 - sunnies / shirt / jeans / flops

#4 - Rattan Purse

Let me introduce you to the most perfect and versatile purse for spring/summer. You can dress it up or down. Carries everything I need for a night out or when I need to run a quick errand. And it goes with any outfit.

I shared the most versatile purse, now here are the most versatile shoes. These are the only new addition this year. I got them from Target and they are AMZING. Extremely comfortable and like with the purse, you can dress them up or down. Fit is true to size.

Outfit #1 - earrings / tank / shorts (similar) / shoes
Outfit #2 - jacket / dress / shoes
