DRESSING ROOM DIARIES - LOFT

I did a little impromptu LOFT try on session the other day and wanted to share some pictures. Let's start with what ended up coming home with me.

LOVE this slouchy sweater. It's the perfect lightweight sweater for the cooler summer nights and will transition well to the fall. I'm wearing a small here but had them order me an XS. Also comes in navy stripe. Highly recommend.

I love the embroidery detail on this square neck tank. It's a pretty navy which makes the white just pop. Flowy but not too boxy. Perfect for work (plenty of coverage) or play. True to size. Love!

This fabulous dress is SO versatile and ageless. Wear it to work, dinner, kids event, etc. Very flattering. Pretty blue floral print. And pairs very nicely with a blazer. Pair it with heels or flats. True to size (I'm not wearing petite).

This is such a cute outfit from LOFT. I love the embroidery detail on the top and the ruffle shorts are SO cute. Perfect summer outfit! Highly recommend. Both pieces true to size. And you can get them both at 40% off with code NEWNOW. Get this look with the affiliate links below -

One of the things I love about the light weight sweaters that LOFT has right now is they are perfect for cooler summer nights but also make for great transition pieces for fall. Here's another winner. Love the navy and red stripe. Fits true to size (they didn't have my size so I'm in one that's one size too big). And best news its that it's currently on sale! Shop the other pieces in this look - jeans and shoes.

Saturday Sorting - Bathing Suit Organization

This is a short Saturday sorting post but made a BIG difference in my closet.  For the longest time I've had my bathing suits in two plastic bins in my closet.  Constantly getting messy, hard to find what I wanted and overall just an eye sore.  So I went to Pinterest for some inspiration and here's where it led me.

I never thought in a million years to use a shoe organizer to tidy up my bikinis and one pieces.  It works so well.  I specifically chose this one on Amazon because it was too sided.  One side had smaller pockets than the other.

Smaller pockets for bikinis and bigger pockets for tankinis and one pieces.  Everything fit perfectly and it was a great exercise to get rid of some that I'd been holding onto.

Now I hang them in my closet right next to my cover up.  Fits so nicely.  One of these days I'm going to finally finish organizing my closet and will give you the full tour but for now you get it in pieces.

There are lots of shoe organizer options.  I chose this one because it had good reviews, was dual sided with varies pocket sizes and wasn't too long.

May Monthly #OOTD Favorites

There were SO many favorite outfits I wore in May.  I think part of it was because April was such a cold and miserable month.  Check out my favorite looks...some of which are on sale!

I absolutely LOVING this outfit...and it's super affordable. The skirt has more pink in it...the picture makes it look very orange. Shop full look below.

Skirt on clearance)

Another fabulously affordable outfit.  This dress is technically a midi length but on my 5'1" frame it's more maxi which is fine by me because its so hard to find maxi dresses for my height.  Shop all pieces in this look...

I used to shop at Boden all the time but some reason stopped the last couple of years...until now.  Obsessed with this skirt.  The pattern is so pretty and will go with so many thing.  Runs true to size.

I discovered a new brand I really love called 1901.  They are available at Nordstrom (of course) and this dress is my first favorite from them.  On sale right now!!

Dress (runs large)

This is such a fab Target Style dress. Highly recommend. Perfect with or without the denim jacket.  Again another "midi" length that's more of a maxi on me.  Hurry because this will sell out.

I love the navy, white and red combo! So classic.

Favorite Sales this Week

I love this stripe 1901 dress and it's now 40% off!! Love the green/navy but it also comes in white/navy. Has pockets which I LOVE and super cute tie back detail. I found the XS worked but the site says it runs big so consider sizing down. If you bought this in the past two weeks, you can reach out to Nordstrom for a price adjustment...shoot me a message and I'll send you template language to use. And you can get these Tory Burch sandals for $25 off with code SAVEMORE.

It was a great surprise when I went to LOFT at lunch yesterday to exchange this romper for a petite size and discovered that they were on sale for $29.50!  You can snag one online for a little bit more at $39.50. Highly recommend. Super cute. I sized down to an XSP.

Both of these items in this outfit are on sale!  The go great together or as seen below, on their own.  I'm really loving the 1901 brand that Nordstrom started carrying.  The skirt runs true to size but I found the shirt to run big so definitely size down.

TOP                                                             SKIRT

This Old Navy lattice back sweatshirt is a favorite of mine and it's now under $20 in a bunch of colors. Love this for travel or bumming around on the weekends.

Love this Living in Yellow x Gibson collaboration and this crossfront shirt was one of my favorites from the line.  I'm wearing a petite XS on the left and regular XS on the right.

Love the print on this Maggie twist blouse.  Super flattering and comfortable.  Other print/solid options available.  True to size.

This Steph long sleeve top is SOOOO soft and versatile.  I'm wearing it in petite because the regular length was way too long on me.  Also comes in navy/white stripe.

The Free People top I raved about last month is now on sale. Comes in a bunch of colors but I personally LOVE the red. True to size.

I'm a BIG fan of PJ Salvage pajamas.  They are so soft and comfortable.  This set is now on sale.  Also comes in a white heart option.

Cleaning Make Up Brushes

I am so embarrassed to say that I can't remember the last time I actually cleaned my make up brushes.  Needless to say they were WAY over due.  I got a bunch of stuff from Amazon to really get my brush really, really clean.

The process was actually very easy.  Because they were SUPER dirty, I did a two step process

First I took the cleanser and the cleaning mat and gave it a good scrub.  Once I felt like I got the initial gunk off, then I moved on to the electric brush cleaner....a very fun new gadget.

I put some water and cleanser into the basin of the electric brush cleaner.  The went one by one with my brushes.  There are a bunch of attachments so you just have to find one that has a snug fit and you can go.  If it's too loose, the brush will fly off when you turn it on.  I would spend a couple minutes on each brush moving it up and down to really get that deep clean.

After cleaning each brush, I used this stand to air dry the brushes.  I love this stand because it has lots of options to fit all different brush thickness and when you are done it comes apart for easy storage.

I ended up emptying the basin multiple times because my brushes were so dirty.  I won't be letting that happen again...moving forward, I'm going to start cleaning my brushes at least once a quarter.  Shop all the items I used below -

Trunk Club #7

I've been eyeing this Rails Thea shirt for a while and was so excited when it arrived in my Trunk Club this month.  It's super cute.  Love the fit...loose but the tie gives it some shape.  It also comes in a rainbow print one which I think I might like better.  You can pair with shorts or jeans.  It's a little pricey so I'm going to wait for it to go on sale...fingers crossed.  Shop other pieces in the look - jeans, shoes.

Love this mix media top from Caslon. I'm a sucker for peplum and I just love this style. I'm wearing the regular size vs. petite which I like for a longer look. Comes in a whole bunch of colors and the price point isn't bad at $35. Shop other pieces in the look - jeans and shoes.

I just LOVE this Adelyn Rae dress.  The floral print is soooo pretty.  But the fit is what won me over...it's so flattering.  The dress does run small so size up.  I wearing an XS but what you don't see is I couldn't get it all the way up so I need a small.  If you have a bridal/baby shower, garden wedding, graduation or just a fun night out this is a great dress to wear to it.  I returned it because it was too small but also the price.  I don't have an event to wear it to so I couldn't justify the $122 price tag but you better believe I'll snag this if it goes on sale.  Shop the other pieces in the look - necklace and shoes.

I really, really wanted to like this Free People tank because I LOVE the periwinkle color but unfortunately it was just too revealing for me.  The material was really soft and I love the tie detail but even with a bralette I felt to exposed.  Shop other pieces in the look - jeans and sandals.

This dress is sooo cute and sooo flattering.  Leith really knows how to do dresses well.  My only complaint is I wasn't a huge fan of the burnt orange color.  Maybe if I was a little more sunkissed it would work better.  I checked and the only other color it comes in is black.  It's a great price point at just under $50.

I liked nothing about this jumpsuit...I mean nothing. Not flattering at all. The material wasn't comfortable and the print looked all washed out. Next please.

So this BB Dakota jumpsuit isn't too bad. I like the stripes but not a huge fan of the tie up the front. I'm not opposed to the slits on the side but it doesn't really work (in my opinion) with this material. What do you think?

I wanted to like this Adelyn Rae jumpsuit...I really did because I LOVE the color.  Unfortunately the fit and style was all wrong on me.  There was no coverage in the back which then made the front baggy.  It was too snug in the tummy.   And I hated the weird slits in the front.  Not a winner.  It's now on sale for just under $50.

Of all the jumpsuits that arrived in my Trunk Club...this was my favorite.  The stripes are so flattering.  It wasn't too revealing.  Length wasn't too bad on me (it's not petite).  I like the belted look.  Overall this Vince Camuto one was a winner....and it's on sale right now.  Check it out here

If you are interested in revamping your wardrobe then I definitely recommend trying out Trunk Club...much better quality and options when compared to Stitch Fix.  And if you are a Nordstrom card holder, they waive the styling fee each time (even if you don't keep something).  Sign up here.
