Five Friday Favorites - Recent Purchases

Lots of amazing fall items out there that I wanted to share my Five Favorite recent purchases.  A diverse grouping of stores with some of the items on sale.  Everything in this list is under $50!  So here we go...in no particular order. 

#1 - Universal Thread Utility Jacket

This is a great utility jacket from Target's Universal Thread line.  Soft material.  Lightweight.  Perfect item to layer when we have these weird early fall temperatures...cool then hot and cool again.  Fit is true to size. 

#2 - Ruffle Sleeve Dress

LOVE, LOVE this dress.  It's the perfect transition dress this season but also from winter to spring.  Great price point at under $40.  Comes in a bunch of colors.  True to size.   

#3 - Everleigh Blouse

top / earrings / necklace / jeans / shoes (similar)

I LOVE this blouse.  It's super cute for work or play.  This came in my last Trunk Club and it was love at first try on.  Lots of great detail.  Surplice style with bow tie sleeves.  Comes in a bunch of colors and is currently on sale. 

#4 - Faux Wrap Top

I don't know what I love more about this top - the color or the faux wrap style.  Super soft cotton,  Very flattering style and is perfect for work or play.  Pair with jeans or dress pants.  True to size.  And it's just under $50 but you know I'll be on the look out for it to go on sale.  

#5 - Hooded Top

I've be really loving the Daily Ritual brand from Amazon and this hoodie is AMAZING.  So soft and comfortable.  Comes in other colors.  And it's under $30!  I sized up for a looser fit.  Definitely recommend this!  

Five Friday Favorites #32

This week's Five Friday Favorites is focused on really great pieces for your fall wardrobe AND they are ALL ON SALE!! 

#1 - J.Crew Factory Sweater Blazer and #2 - J.Crew Factory Leopard Flats 

This is the PERFECT fall outfit.  You can dress it up or down.  I wore this sweater blazer all fall and winter last year.  Get this look - blazer // top (similar) // necklace // jeans (similar) // shoes

#3 - Lush Tunics 

My Lush tunic collection started with a black one over a year ago and then I added a brown one when they went on sale in the spring.  This is a must have piece in your wardrobe.  I feel like they are always on sale.  It's great for work or play.  It's a simple blouse tunic but the right accessories can make it your own.  I'm wearing a fab layering necklace with the black outfit and three separate bracelets with the brown.  There are so many different color options, definitely recommend you have one or two in your wardrobe. 

#4 - Accessories
 

The right accessory can take an outfit from looking blah and boring to fabulous!  Fall has a lot of basics and dark colors but pairing it with an earring, bag or scarf can really brighten it up.  These three items are some of my favorites and they are all on sale right now - Wisten earrings, Ombre necklace, Taj clutch and infinity scarf. 


#5 - Gibson Tunic

This tunic by Gibson is SOOOO soft.  I LOVE it sooo much that I bought it in black last year AND with it on sale again I ordered the gray...just waiting for it to arrive.  It's so soft.  You can wear it off the shoulder but I prefer the cowlneck turtleneck style.  Lots of colors to pick from.  Runs a little big so consider sizing down.  I'm good in my usual XS.

SWEATERS

This is a super cute zip up sweater from a brand I had not tried before - Love by Design.  It's an exaggerated neck that you can wear up (if you've got your hair in a pony tail) or down as seen in this picture.  Soft material.  Great overall casual sweater.

OBSESSED with this sweater.  It came home with my yesterday.  So comfy and cozy.  It's by O'Neill which totally surprised me.  And it's a great price under $50!  Will get LOTS of wear this fall/winter.

Love this BP seamed sweater.  It's super soft and flattering.  Slight bell sleeve...it's not too much that you will feel like your sleeves are getting into everything but just enough for the perfect added detail.  Oh and did I mention it's under $40!!  A few colors available but I love the blush!

This Leith sweater is going to be one of the it pieces of this sale (I think) and will likely sell out.  Lots of colors available.  Soft material.  I'm wearing an XS but I could definitely size down to an XXS.  Depending on how you want to wear it you can go true to size or size down.

LONG SLEEVE 

Each sale BP always has a cute plaid top and this year didn't disappoint again.  Love this yellow...so different and so cute!  There are soo many color options together.  Really cute, definitely recommend.  True to size.

I REALLY wanted this Caslon faux wrap top to work.  Love the linen like material and the high low waist but it just didn't work.  I think because I'm too short.  Anyone else try it and it work for you?

This Chelsea28 blouse has been around for a while and so exciting that it's available for the sale.  Love everything about this - blush color, lace shoulder detail and neck cutout.  Perfect for work or play.  Several colors available but I'm partial to the blush.  True to size.

This is a cute Halogen top.  Love the lace cutout detail and pleated neckline.  Perfect for work or play.  Neck wasn't too tight.  True to size.

This Halogen top is another great alternative to a work blouse.  Love the collar and the red stripe button detail.  Works great with jeans as well.  True to size.

Love a good basic blouse like this Hinge one.  Cute pattern (others available), ruffle detail on neckline and the drapey fabric is very flattering.  True to size.

This is the PERFECT work shirt from Leith.  Love the structured collar and sleeves.  Perfect split neck (wearing a cami just as a safe guard.  And the plaid pattern is great.  This will sell out if it hasn't already.  Super versatile...wear it to work (on it's on or with a cardigan or blazer) but it would also work casually with a pair of jeans.  Highly recommend.

Here's Lush's version of the popular blouse that sold out last year.  This comes in a variety of plaids and solid colors.  It's cute but not my favorite.  I prefer the Leith one or just Lush's basic tunic.

Loves this BP ribbed pullover.  Very flattering...you can dress it up for work or down with a pair of jeans.  Comes in a bunch of beautiful jewel tones but I was drawn to the blush.  And did I mention it's only $25!!!

These Socialite long sleeve tees are SOOOO soft!!  I got one at last years sale (v-neck style) and this year they have a cute split neck with solid and a camo print available.  Seriously they are amazingly soft.  Highly recommend.  True to size.  

Super cute basic long sleeve tee by Halogen but with a twist - a very subtle bell sleeve.  Comes in solid and stripe.  I love the black and white stripe.  True to size.

If only I was a little taller this Treasure and Bond blouse would work perfectly.  I love the white/light blue stripe and exaggerated sleeves.  You can wear now with white jeans or in the spring/fall months.  Super cute tunic length (just too long on my 5'1" frame).   

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Vince Camuto blouse.  I didn't buy it in the store and immediately regretted it after I got home so I bought it yesterday.  Everything about this is perfection...gathered sleeves, ruched neck and I'm OBSESSED with the color.  Love the modern take on a Victorian look.  Will be perfect for work or a night out.  Lots of other colors to pick from.  True to size but if you are on the shorter side, you might want to consider petite (that's what I'm wearing).

I didn't have to try this one on in the store because the Free People January top is a tried and true favorite.  I loved it so much that after I bought the white one I went and got in black a few months later.  I just wish that I had gotten it at the Nordstrom Anniversary 40% off price.  Fit is true to size and honestly goes with sooo much.  I LOVE this top and HIGHLY recommend.  

SHORT SLEEVE/SLEEVELESS 

Obviously I kept this one because I wore immediately the next day.  LOVE this Madewell popover shirt.  Works for work or play.  Love the bright blue/white stripes.  I will definitely get a lot of wear spring, summer and early fall.  Pairs nicely with white or blue jeans.  On my short frame it's a little too long for shorts but if you are taller I definitely think it can work.  And there's cute button detail down the back.  Definitely recommend this one.

This is a super cute Hinge sleeveless blouse.  Also comes in white.  Love the mix lace detail and subtle peplum.  I'm wearing a size too big (small, need an XS) because that's all the had but it's SUPER cute.  You can definitely dress it up or down.  Also comes in white

Trunk Club #6

I hit the jackpot because I tried this Lush dress in the floral pattern but the coloring was all wrong and I really wanted the black and white polka dot one...well it showed up in my trunk this month!  It's a keeper.  Love the style, love the fit and love the pattern.  True to size.  Perfect spring/summer dress.

This was another fab dress for spring/summer.  It was between keeping the wrap and this one and the wrap one is a little more versatile for me.  Love the ruffle detail and the color is amazing.  Definitely recommend it...and it's on sale right now.  Other pieces in my look are Stella necklace and my go-to Steve Maddens. 

This was a total miss for me - both the Wit & Wisdom jeans and the Chloe & Katie top.  In theory, I love the top (and it looks great on the model) but I think I'm just too short for it.  The quality is great but it just doesn't look right on me.  The jeans were a little big (wearing regular 2) and too long.  This style is supposed to be a skimmer length...definitely need petite.  I didn't love the jeans enough to exchange them. 

I LOVE my Hailey Lush dress so when another color arrived in my Trunk Club box, I was so excited. Unfortunately the coral color just didn't work for me. I've exchanged it for the Pink Adobe...just waiting for it to arrive. The dress definitely runs big so I'd size down...I'm wearing an XS for reference. Shop the wine color one I have that is on sale here.

This Vince shirt wasn't a winner for me...it was way too big and I'm not sure if another size down would have made much of a difference. I love it in theory but just didn't work. However I did LOVE the jeans...they are from my go-to Kut from the Kloth. These are the Connie Skinny Ankle in petite size. I love this brand and the price.

Top 5 (so far) Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Purchases

I've had so many posts going up on Facebook reviewing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I thought I'd bring you what are my top five favorite purchases (so far).  I'll keep updating this as my online orders coming in but these are my favorites..and my buys.

 I love, love, love this Chelsea28 dress.  I loved it the minute I saw it in the look book.  It's a classic navy shift dress with beautiful ruffle details on the shoulders.  The sleeves are gathered at the wrist which also gives it another nice detail.  And you can't beat the $98 price point.

 I had been on the hunt for black slip on shoes and these Vince Corbins are PERFECT!  So comfortable and exactly what I was looking for.  Come in a few colors and fabrics...I got the black leather.

This Hinge sweater was the biggest surprise and one of my favorite purchases so far.  It honestly feels like cashmere its so soft.  I love the detail on the elbows and the sleeves...just gives it a little extra something.  Highly recommend.

I always use the Anniversary Sale as a time to stock up on one or two cashmere items because you can't beat the prices.  This Vince sweater wasn't even on my radar mainly because of the price point but when I saw it in the store, I had to try it on and I'm so glad I did.  It fits great, so soft and I know I'm going to live in it this fall/winter.

I use the Anniversary sale to stock up on a lot of items like Hanky Pankys, camisole, socks and candles but I also use it to stock up on basic tees and these Lush tees are the best.  Soft, great fit and $15 price tag.  They come in a variety of colors but make sure you size down...I'm wearing an XS.
