Five Friday Favorites - Fall Shoes

You guys really liked last week's Five Friday Favorites focused on outerwear pieces for fall/winter so I thought I'd keep it going with shoes this week.

#1 - Booties
LEFT - shirt / jeans / booties
RIGHT - sweater / vest / booties

Who doesn't love a good pair of booties.?!?!  I know I do, in fact I'm slightly obsessed and have five pairs in my closet.  In my defense, I've collected them over the past few years and wear them ALL THE TIME in the fall and winter.  I have two basic black pairs (one heel, one flat) and three beige/nude ones (one flat pair I bought this year and two with heels).  There are so many great booties out there but I'm partial to Vince Camuto...they are so comfortable and really great quality.  Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack have great options available!

#2 - Rainboots
LEFT - jacket (similar) / shirt / leggings / boots
RIGHT - shirt (similar) / vest / jeans / boots (similar)

I've really needed rain boots this season...it has rained SO much.  These are a staple on rainy days, esspecially on the weekends when I'm out running errands or at mini's games.  They are comfortable and cute.  I've had the black glossy pair for 5+ years and they are still in excellent condition.  I recently had a great find of these blue shorter ones at Nordstrom RackHunters are definitely worth the splurge because they will last AND you can use them all year round...just put some of the sock liners in when the weather gets cold and you've got snow boots!

#3 - Fashionable Sneakers
LEFT - shirt / jeans (similar) / sneakers
RIGHT - shirt / cami / necklace / jeans (similar) / sneakers

I never had "fashionable" sneakers in my closet till having kids and was running around all the time.  Now I've got a few go-to pairs that I basically live in on the weekends during the fall/spring months.  If you are looking for a pair that will go with basically any weekend casual outfit then I would recommend either of the two I have above...so comfortable and a great neutral to pair with anything!  I also love these black Vince ones that are on sale and these Target pink ones.

#4 - High Boots
LEFT - shirt (similar) / jeans (similar) / boots
RIGHT - sweater / jeans / boots

I LOVE me a high boot.  You will start to see me in these ALL the time in the later fall, early winter months.  They are cute, comfortable and really make an outfit.  In my closet, I've got a basic flat black pair, a dressier black heel pair I wear to work, a flat brown pair (on the right) that I wear the most and I just added the pair of the left from Target...a cute suede slouchy style.  With these boots I recommend investing in a pair of Frye or Sam Edelman's for your everyday ones and then the more trendy ones get at like a Target because you never know how long they will be in style.

#5 - Flats
LEFT - shirt / purse / necklace / jeans / shoes
RIGHT - shirt (similar) / jeans / shoes (similar)

Flats can be a girls best friend or incredible uncomfortable.  I have a few go-to flats that have gotten me through 18+ hours on my feet...my favorite hands down, most comfortable flats are from Tory Burch.  They are definitely a splurge but last forever and are very comfortable.  I have three pairs (black, black patent, brown) and have had all three for 5+ years! If you are looking for a great neutral flat...check out these from Caslon...bunch of colors available but I have the nude for a nice go with any color.  I also love a fun flat too...and these leopard ones from J.Crew Factory are fun but not nearly as comfortable.  They are good for a basic work day.

DRESSING ROOM DIARIES - Amazon Fashion Haul

Amazon keeps stepping up their game with the fashion finds.  It's starting to get dangerous....here are my recent reviews on my latest Amazon Prime Wardrobe

I love a good cold shoulder top in the fall/winter and this Lark and Ro one is SO cute.  It's super soft cashmere. You can definitely wear it for work or play.  Dress it up with a statement earring.  Fit is true to size.  Also comes in white and navy.

I know I've mentioned on Christina's Favorite Things FB page that some J.Crew Factory items are now available on Amazon like these super cute basic crew neck sweaters.  I love pairing a button down top under them but they also work on their own or with a basic tee under it.  Available in a bunch of colors and can we worn for almost any occasion.  True to size.

shirt / skirt (similar here and here)

This was a great look for less find on Amazon.  I got an almost identical turtleneck from Nordstrom last year.  It's still available here but honestly I like this Daily Ritual one better.  It's a soft cotton, fitted look (which is what I want) and the material isn't sheer so I don't have to layer with anything else.  True to size.  Also comes in black and navy.

Another Daily Ritual item for the win.  Seriously I'm obsessed with everything I've tried of theirs!  This sweatshirt is sooo soft.  It reminds me of a really worn in old school college sweatshirt.  It has such a cozy feel.  It's nice and long and has a great slit so you can move with it.  Comes in gray and also a black/white stripe.  True to size.

Ok Daily Ritual, love again!  This dress is sooo soft.  Honestly it felt like I was wearing a night gown.  Love the cowl neck detail.  True to size.  Also comes in a fab green color.  My only complaint is I wish it was offered in petite because it's a little long on my 5'1" frame.

And keep following along with all of my Amazon favorites here

Five Friday Favorites - Outerwear

This week's Five Friday Favorites is focused on outerwear for Fall and Winter.  I apologize in advance as I didn't have time to take photos the way I wanted but I didn't want to not post this so you will just have to bear with the #OOTD mirror shots for most of them.  I've ordered these as the temperatures get cooler...

#1 - Field Jacket
LEFT - Jacket (similar) / Top / Jeans / Shoes (similar)
RIGHT - Jacket / Top / Jeans (similar)

You've seen these photos a lot because I'm a such a fan of a good field jacket.  It's the PERFECT layering piece for the fall...especially those cloudy and light rainy days.  There are sooo many options out there but I wanted to share two of my favorites.  The one on the left is Madewell from last year's Anniversary Sale but don't worry, Nordstrom Rack has a great alternative...it looks almost exactly like mine.  And the one on the right is Target...and super affordable, definitely more casual than the Madewell one and lighter weight.

#2 - Quilted Vest
LEFT - Vest / Shirt (similar) / Jeans / Boots
RIGHT - Vest / Dress (similar) / Boots

I LOVE a good vest.  They are so versatile and can go with almost any outfit.  I personally have a slight addiction to the J.Crew Factory ones.  I have it in navy, orange and herringbone.  This year they have a camo version and a gingham one....and a printed floral one.  You definitely need at least one in your closet...I recommend starting with black or navy.  If you had your heart set on a herringbone one, I found a great dupe from Amazon

#3 - Fleece Jackets
I love a good fleece.  I'd much rather wear a fleece than a winter coat if I can get away with it.  I have two staples in my wardrobe that return year after year - Patagonia Fleece and North Face Zip Up.  They are really great quality and worth the money because they will last and are timeless.  I added a new one this year thanks to Amazon and it's under $40!!!

#4 - Rain Coats
These two rain coats are new this year.  Every girl needs a classic trench in their closet and on the left you have Target's A New Day brand has a great dupe for the classic Burberry trench.  Great fit and flattering and has a removable hood!  The coat on the right is fresh off the UPS truck.  I had been on the hunt for a cute, casual rain coat that would go with a lot of things and I finally found one thanks to Joules.  I had a hard time deciding between the plaid and stripe but ultimately I though the stripe would be more versatile.  I got great use out of it yesterday!  Love, love!!

#5 - Winter Coats
LEFT - Coat (similar) / Hat (similar) / Scarf (on sale)
RIGHT - Coat / Hat (on sale) / Boots

Last up are winter coats.  I've got about three different coats in rotation...two I've featured here.  One is basic black coat with a twist (faux leather sleeves).  I got it during the Anniversary Sale last year and LOVE it.  I found a similar (and very affordable) version at Kohl's.  The second is a longtime favorite and a huge favorite of my readers...J.Crew Factory's City coat.  Goes with anything and there are sooo many colors to pick from.  The fit is very flattering and you can easily dress it up or down.  It is constantly going on sale and I always post those deals on the FB page.  The last which isn't featured and probably the one I wear the most is my The North Face Metropolis coat.  I wear this one the most...which is ironic because I couldn't find a picture of me in it.  It's such a great and very warm winter coat.  Water resistant and easy for travel.  If you don't have this coat and are needing a new winter one, I highly recommend it.  There are a bunch of colors available but I prefer black.

DRESSING ROOM DIARIES - Target's Prologue Line

I've shared bits and pieces from my at home try on session of Target's new Prologue line over on my FB page but wanted to have everything in one place for you to access.  Check out the great pieces...and really good prices.

am loving this short sleeve boucle sweater. It's surprisingly not itchy and I love that its a longer short sleeve. Wear with work pants or jeans. Get this look -

shirt / necklace (on sale) / jeans / shoes

LOVING this dolman sleeve pullover sweater. Fit is really great. And I just love this look because you can dress it up or down...wear with jeans or work pants. Fit is true to size. Also comes in black.

dress / booties

I'm loving this dress. It's made of a scuba/sweatshirt material so it's extremely soft. This color is amazing and it also comes in gray. I'm wearing my usual XS but it's definitely big so consider sizing down.

shirt / pants / shoes

These are these FABULOUS pants! They are supposed to be more of a cropped length but they fit me great right below the ankle. Love the slit detail at the bottom. Lightweight material which reflects the $29.99. Comes in a couple colors but I love this blue. True to size. These are definitely keepers.

Five Friday Favorites - Amazon Fashion

You all have been loving my Amazon fashion finds so I thought I'd focus this week's Five Friday Favorites on some of my recent favorite finds...

#1 - Camo Leggings
I get sooo bored sometimes with my basic black leggings so these Core 10 leggings are a much needed changed.  They are durable enough to workout it but you can go from the gym to the store no problem...or you can just use them for your lounge wear.  They do run a tad small so consider sizing up.  I paired with another Amazon favorite, Daily Ritual turtleneck

#2 - Snuggly Fleece
This is such a soft and snuggle fleece.  And the perfect dupe/look for less for the very popular Thread and Supply fleece.  It's great price point too.  Now I just wish the weather would get cool enough for me to wear it.  Fit is true to size.

#3 - Pajamas
If you've been following Christina's Favorite Things then you know I'm addicted to pajamas.  These are my second pair of Mae pjs and they are just SO soft.  I LOVE them.  Fit is true to size.  Other patterns are available.  Highly recommend.

#4 - Peplum Top
Big thanks to Cassie at Hi Sugarplum! for this recommendation.  I LOVE this top for something fun and different.  The peplum detail is so cute...it's made of scuba material so it definite holds it's shape.  It's the perfect twist on a black top for a night out.  Definitely recommend...it's under $20!  True to size.  Comes in a few other colors and long sleeve option.

#5 - Ella Moon Lace Top
This Ella Moon top is the priciest on the list this week at just under $50 but it's so worth it.  The lace detail is beautiful and I love the bell sleeves.  You can dress it up or down.  It's versatile for almost any season.  Fit is true to size.

And one extra because she's just so darn cute in this dress...
I'm a new fan of the Fire Arm brand.  This dress is the first thing I tried for Big Mini and it's sooo cute.  And they have so many cute patterns and styles available.  They look just like Mini Boden but the quality isn't the same and I'm ok with that for clothes that I know will likely get ruined.  True to size.

Favorite September Looks

September was a VERY dreary month here in the DC area.  I think it rained at least (if not more than) 75% of the time.  It was weird dressing weather with some cool and some warmer days.  Here are my favorite looks from the month -

top (on sale) / necklace / earrings / jeans (on sale) / shoes

Love this blouse from LOFT.  You can dress it up or down and it's on sale plus an additional 40% off!  The jeans are also a staple of mine from Kut from the Kloth and they are on sale too!

shirt / necklace / sunnies jeans (similar) / sneakers

I love a good rugby shirt and this BP one is on point with the navy and pink combo.  Perfect for running around on the weekends.  And it's under $40!

jacket / tank (similar) / earrings / jeans / flats (similar)

Finally got to wear this jacket!  I got it at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  Lucky for you it's still available.  Also comes in black.  Highly recommend.

EVERY woman should own this tank.  It is SOOO flattering and extremely comfortable.  Very soft cotton with the most beautiful lace detail.  Great on it's own or layer with cardigan or jacket.

shirt / necklace / bracelet / bracelet / jeans (similar) / shoes

I might look like a hot mess in this pic (was taken before I went to get my hair done) but I LOVE this look.  It's so comfortable and still looks put together with really no effort.  The SOFTEST top and it comes in black and dark gray.
